Pre Congress Tour
Sunday 24 February – Sunday 3 March 2019
Prior to the IFMA22 Congress take an opportunity to visit Hobart and the surrounding agriculturally diverse regions. Meet leading producers with enterprises including prime lamb, superfine Merinos, beef cattle, seed breeding, fruit and vegetable production, viticulture, aquaculture and land management. See Tasmania’s wild and spectacular east coast and enjoy the world class food and wine of our island state. Lunch will be provided in Launceston.
Tour participants will need to ensure they make travel bookings to arrive in Hobart for the start of the tour on Sunday 24th February, 2019.
Post Congress Tour
Saturday 9 March – Friday 15 March 2019
The Post Congress tour will start in Melbourne on the morning of Saturday 9 March, and finish in Sydney on Friday 15 March, and will take visitors north though Victoria to New South Wales, finishing in Sydney. Farming business in these areas are much more broadacre, and the farms less diversified that in Tasmania. Visitors will see more of large-scale livestock, cropping and horticultural production in these areas.
Flights from Launceston to Melbourne are not included in the tour package. Participants will be advised to book well in advance to ensure they are in Melbourne on time, preferably travelling on the afternoon of Friday 8th, and staying at an airport hotel ready for 10:00 departure on Saturday morning.
